Thirty posts and no dissensions? I personally think it makes almost all of these cars just look too busy. A big old car-Duesy or Packard-with tons of front lights- is cool. A's and 30's Fords, especially with an asymetrically mounted light are just not for me. And just that-I wouldn't run them on my cars-but if you like them, please go right ahead.

Wow, I did not expect a large response. Thanks for all the pictures and information guys. I am not dead set on using them on my rod yet, but I do have a couple pairs of lights that I could use. My main headlights will be an old set of Auto Lamp Mfg. Co. Model 430's that I will be restoring (top, larger ones). My choices are as follows, 1) a pair of Auto Lamp Mfg. Co. Model 410's, smaller and not as deep as the 430's (center one) or 2) an original pair of GUIDE lights that state 4 5/8" on them (bottom one).

I see many of you have smaller lights and many of you have singles or sets of fog lights that are not much smaller than the main headlights.

I suppose it would help to see them on the car, but off the cuff, what pair would you run? I kinda like the idea of running matched Auto Lamp Mfg. Co. sets.

  6. The foglights on my truck are B-L-C's and I ditched the original bulbs and sockets and adapted a new socket to except a modern double element halegon bulb,,,

The B-L-C foglights came with amber lens and are 5 3/4" . HRP

The ones on mine are original options that came already on the car. I will be leaving them on and using them as running lights.

  12. I had a set on my 36, one amber and one white as my pops said thats how they did it back in the fiftys. BUT as it became apparent that everyone was putting fog lamps on their cars, I took mine off. Dare to be different. MIke

I've picked up a couple off Ebay and plan to use one on the '32 2dr and probably one on either the roadster or 5w. Only plan on one for each car. Kinda like the asymetrical look.

  17. Frank,I guess it's like the dark painted mags,,the single foglight must be a locational or reagional thing,,,In my neck of the woods I never saw a single unless the other one was busted!:D HRP

Been running these for about five years. I run hi/low sealed beams in them . Have higher watt bayonett bulbs in the orig headlights. I leave them on Hi beam and dim the the old fog lights. Tried halogen bulbs in the orig headlights and the glass seemed to distort the beam like a flood light. Works pretty well and have never had anyone flashing his headlights like they were bothering them.

I thought about using one on my 5W for a while . I like the fog lamp to be the right size (scale wise) compared to the headlamps . I had some nice fogs with a cats eye lens . Looked too large with my B-L-C headlights . Ended up with a smaller B-L-C fog that matched my headlights.........Z

I like fog lights, always have. They add a finished look to any car, my 3 cents. I found these a few years back at Hershey, and it was love at first sight. and they were cheep, $35.00 with the original brackets. Course I was messing with them one day and droped one of the glass lenses, and wanted to cry. Found another one, its not the same shade but close enough. Iceman

  25. my coupe was planned from day 1 with a fog light... I have this one and a clear fluted lense one that resembles a small version of the 28-29 model a pickup light (painted back) that I will use as an option for this light. I like either one...not sure why....
