Well, after three long years of work I finally got my ride on the road!
I went for a test drive and it overheated, checked it out (thermostats, timing etc.) and could not find the problem. Did another run, same thing, but this time I found the culprit... Cracked head! Man did that ever bum me out!
Now I need some help sourcing a set of heads and gaskets. Anyone know of a good source for these? 21 Stud (waterpumps in head) heads and gaskets.
Any and All help greatly appreciated.

There are several different heads and a hidden trap for these...look at numbers on head to ID. The trap is that some of these engines had flattop pistons and matching flat quench area in head, others used domed pistons and domed quench area...you gotta match your pistons to whatever head you get. Try for heads with same casting # as there are different compression ratios.

That sure is a shame!!! I got the heads to my buddy and he will have them on the surfacer and done tomorrow. Glad to hear the gaskets worked out for you as well. Talk with you tomorrow.
