I'm going to use a brush on Nash Hot Rod, no shit I ain't lyin'. 'Most of the body work/rockers/headers is ready for smoothin, and the rest of the metal prep will take a month of Sundays to get it bright before the primer coat. Maybe this winter. Now that you've shown us your wagon, I'm going to make an attempt to beat your $40 benchmark!

Rustoleum is great, I use their Satin line on everything. Its super easy to work with and nearly impossible to do a bad job with the stuff.

I like it. I like the car, too, since we had a '58 Ford wagon when I was a kid back in the early sixties. All eight of us would pile in that thing and go on vacation!

  19. oven cleaner and steel wool take it right off. im more partial to krylon satin, its not as thick/gummy....

That's simply not true. Block sand it, seal-prime, sand again, then put anything on it that you want to.

That paint have any UV blocker in it? Just wondering how it'll stand up to sunlight. Looks cool!

I'm just glad it has some kind of paint on it and didn't get sent to the chinese toy factory.

    Nice job.

  27. I agree. I don't know why people say you can't paint or clear over enamels. Obviously they have to be fully cured but other than that I don't see a problem. You can clear over practically anything with modern clears.

  28. yah satin not the flat in that brand flat looks like poly primer and it dosent fade too bad in summer here it gets 110 and stays around 100 for about 4 mounths it lightens just a little

I am digging it. There is a time and place for a quick inexpensive makeover and you made it happen, and apparently did it very well.

    Nice colors.

    Looks great!
