Houston HAMBers Public Service Announcement; I am not affiliated with this sale, I haven't been yet (it doesn't start until Friday 6/19), so I don't know what they have exactly. I just saw it on CL today, the address is 713 Tidwell, Houston 77022.

Late last year and early this year there were a couple of postings for an estate sale at Veteran Auto Trim, I went and there was tons of auto (HAMB friendly) stuff at that one and I'm hoping for the same at this one. Being that it's a trim shop there should be lots of upholstery, but you never know what you'll find.

Hopefully, someone can get over there an check it out for those of us that have to work on Friday. Aldixie?

Veterans was awesome. There probably wasnt much left when you got there though. I bought truckloads of '37-40 Ford parts. Some rolls of zodiac. Then went back and got some pallet racks. That was a helluva estate sale.

Unfortunately I have to work this Friday, I know the last one had some great stuff. I'm stocked up on carpet for a while. I do need some windlace so I might be out there Saturday.

It was one of the best I've been to. Sounds like you beat me to a lot of good stuff!
The oldest parts I remember seeing were forties Ford running boards and an old truck grille. I went back repeatedly over the 4 or 5 sales they had there and almost always came home with something that I didn't see the time before.

I don't see any hours listed, but the sale is supposed to be Friday, Sat. & Sun. I'll probably be there Sat.

  8. Damn, that's a few blocks from my office. Looks like a long lunch break for me tomorrow.

Hey Spyder, let us know if there's anything worthwhile, just don't buy it all!

Looks like I won't get over there until saturday afternoon as I have someone picking up an engine from me in the morning.

  11. Well DAMN, the address is Craigslist was a bit wrong. Correct address is 713 EAST Tidwell, 1.4 miles from 713 Tidwell, but in the same zip code.

I blew my lunch brake going to the wrong place. I emailed to seller, the hours are 8-5.

I will be too busy this weekend to make it back, better luck to you guys.

    DAMN is right!
Man there's nothing that pisses me off quicker than trying to find a place that's not where the map says it is!!
I just did a street view on Google maps and it looks like a tiny garage behind a house.
When I put in the address it automatically went to E.Tidwell (or east of 45N, before you get to Airline Drive).
Thanks for the update Brent, sorry your time was wasted!

You won't miss much. I went there this morning. Some rolls of material and piping and tools. They wanted $1000 for the sewing machine!!!. Its an upholstery shop that was run out of a converted house. You have to go through the house to the backyard to the garage. (just a double residential). If your expecting a Veterans type deal you'll be dissapointed.

Aldixie, you're right about that! I must've just missed you, I went this morning too and didn't find hardly anything worth while. All the half-way decent stuff one of the guys running the thing had 'claimed'.
I couldn't get past the smell of death out near the shop!

Depends on the machine. Good ones are expensive...paid $2500 for mine in 1990, but it was new. I couldn't even guess what the same unit would be today.

The girl there told me $800, but then one of the guys said $1,000.
I didn't need it so I didn't argue about it.

The smell was pretty bad, they were advertising puppies out the front if you saw the sign. Didn't want to know what was in the garbage bags!!
