Hey HAMBers! Been looking around the threads for a week or so and find alot of good info here, not to mention of killer work by some talented persistant rodders. Have owned a few projects in the past, most them buddies dead projects, 49 Chev coupe, 51 Chev pick-up, 55 Pontiac Chieftain hardtop, but they are in the past and Im looking for something to really get creative with. Spent the last 20 years 'restoring' 60's pony cars for other people. Want to build me a hotrod by no specific rules. Have ridden around the Tennessee country side this winter looking through old fence rows for just a glimmer of chrome on an old piece of iron begging to be dragged home. Found a 50 Ford 4 door that Im trying to convince the owner to part with. Like the 4 to 2 door conversions Ive seen on here, think a section job could be the order, and what do you think of this, frenching the roof! Keep up the good threads and will post pics when the newest acquisition occurs. tnrotter
Thanks Randaddy! Imagine lowering the roof during a full body section, but the sides of the roof look 'stock' but the front and rear windshields are recessed below a front and rear cowl area making the car appear chopped from front or rear. tnrotter
Thanks for the post............I get it now. I've seen a lot of stuff over the years, but not that one. If you can keep the roof drop from becoming a water trap, it just might be the coolest thing to come along in a long time. Be sure you post photos.
