I am working for two weeks on my truck now and thought I should share my progress.

So here is what I got:

The Basis:


Plain Cab with Bombers ;-)


Floor Kit:


Started to channel the floor:




not the best welding, I know ;-)


New floor frame:

Great build!! I like it. Trust me, by the end of this project, you'll be welding great.

Unless of course you've been welding like crap for years. then there may be no hope...

Nice work. What was the acutal channel measurement?
Any angle for the cab front to rear or just a straight drop?

Looks great so far.

 

pete: the channel measurement is 4 1/2" because I wanted the front of the cab to be flush with the frame.
It is a straight drop, but the whole frame will get a little angle.
4" dropped axle in the front and maybe 2" in the back.
But I am not sure about that yet.

Almost done, but I still have to bolt it to the frame...

Next thing will be the top chop.
Hope I can start this week.

What do you guys think, how many inches have to go???

 

Did you consider the thickness of the seat padding?

Wow that looks like its going to be amazing. I wish I knew how to do cab lowering and all of that. Good work.

It is nice to see other peoples work to enhance the ideas in ones head. Great work.

AFA as the Chop. I would go 4 inches.
My chop at 4 in. and a channel of 4 in. it looks pretty decent.
My attempt was to make sure some one taller could ride in the truck with comfort.

Looks good to me coming along nicely.

 

Looks real good.
About the chop, it looks like 3", right. Not to influence you too much, but I would chop it more, maybe 5" or 6", if you still have enough head room.
Take a good side shot and photoshop it, or print it out and cut it with scissors, to get an idea.

Keep us updated on the chop. Im thinking of doing a 4" chop on my 35. Im running fenders on mine so more than that would look out of proportion. I think?

I think it is really the right amount!!!

Chris: It is almost 3 1/2 inches. I only had this metric tape, so it is 90mm ;-)
I was thinking about chopping it more, but I want to be able to sit in there straight!!!
And I wanted the Cab to be flush with the frame, so I had no choice abou the channel.
Also the seat risers are not to high I think...

So I only can do 3 1/2 or maybe 4 inches...

I should think about that!!!
