Does your Woods have the stains on the roof and back seat upholstery that were characteristic of the Pollard cars that were hung from the rafters by their front ends? It seems the steering box fluids would seep down the steering shafts and then drip into the interiors of many of the cars.

I just Googled Stanley Steamer for sale, and I came across this ad. That same car selling for $125,000.

    http://www.prewarcar.com/searchresults.asp?make=Stanley Steamer

It is a collectors item and only a fool with money would destroy car like that............. Even if it was selling for $2000. I would not f*ck with it. I would have to much fun driving it as is.

Thank goodness, for a few minutes I thought it might actually be in peril of being chopped. Any car that rare should be left alone or a concours restoration done. Every car that comes along does NOT need to be chopped. There are a lot of bitchen hot rods that have a stock height top.

OK- I'm against cutting up the original car...

...but building a rod on a T chassis based on those bodylines (if not those proportions) would be really cool.

If any of you tinbenders want to make a name for yourselves...build this car!

  17. Great Car!!!!

It's not like you step in the car and turn the key and drive away!!!

How long does it take to get a whole "Head of Steam"...???

Hmmm... if you park next to a Pacer... it'll look like it had a Baby!!!

    Mr. Laferriere,
Beautifull car you have there, and I wish you luck with the sale. I would however like to make a sugestion...

If the car were ever to receive a full on resto, I'm thinking it would be worthwile to pull some glass molds off the original parts. There is simply no denying how absolutely bad-ass that car looks chopped and dropped, and I'd be willing to bet if you, or someone, could offer a chopped glass body with those killer lines, you would probably be able to sell enough of them to make it worth your while.

Hmmm... Maybe even offer it in the top hat version as well. :p

  22. Except of course for all of the cutting and modifications:rolleyes:

Based on James427's posts, this was just meant to be eye candy...seems that we get so used to seeing the T's and A's in so many different incarnations, many forget about what else was around for the uppercrust to drive around in...

    Thanks for sharing the picture...

at 125k i would think that your giving the car away?.

  24. Clean it up and save it as an example of a Model T, I know a guy that did that and its a really neat car. I haven't seen many T coupes that I think made cool hot rods.

    Except, it's not a Model T.

Hell, it's not even a Ford.

I like modifying cars as much as the next guy, but theres enough things out there that should be modified before they get junked. pristine cars should be left just that. chop something else.

Don't rod it and don't restore it. Just keep it like it is.

You can take people on rides like this one.
