http://dynolicious.com/ I haven't tried it yet, but just downloaded it. for $12.99 car and driver says it works pretty well , with repeatable results that were .3 seconds more conservative than their professional GPS box. Good enough for government work, and since it's consistant they like it for testing modifications to see if they made a difference or not. It also gives 0-60 and skidpad data(that's not so great they say). NY Times review here. Has anybody tried it yet? What kinda numbers did you put up? I'll post mine when I get them, and I make sure that carb linkage is working properly edit: You can use it on a bus or a plane, which is kinda cool! It runs on my iphone classic, I haven't tried it out in the car yet though. I think one of the articles also said it doesn't use the GPS. Q: Will Dynolicious work on my iPod Touch or 1.1.4 iPhone? A: Dynolicious will run with all features on iPhone (classic or 3G) or iPod Touch running 2.0 firmware.
Here's what they say. I think one of the articles also said it doesn't use the GPS.

Q: Will Dynolicious work on my iPod Touch or 1.1.4 iPhone?

A: Dynolicious will run with all features on iPhone (classic or 3G) or iPod Touch running 2.0 firmware.

Hey Ryan, it should work on a first gen Iphone, it should even work on a iPod touch. Not really HAMB approved but a program called Rev will provide ODB II metrics thru a wireless interface from the diagnostic port of any 96 and up vehicle.
The only problem with it running on a touch would be getting GPS info while driving. The touch only has WiFi, the phones triangulate through cell towers. So, it will work on the phones (if they are running 2.0) and will work on the touch (2.0 also) as long as you are close enough to a wireless network. I was wrong. It calculates using only the accelerometer. No WiFi needed
i've been trying to get around to it... I did use the free speedo app on my trip to Charlotte this past weekend since the one in the Buick is being a PITA...
Cliffy has it on his iPod touch and it works relatively good. he did like 12 second 1/4 in his t-bucket. How accurate I don't know.
Ryan - 1st you need to get the update so you can use the app store, otherwise it's supposed to work. I've got a 1st gen touch and have one of these apps on it, it doesn't use GPS, it uses the accelerometer that all iphones/touch's have.
i just updated my 1st gen last night and downloaded the free version of "pocketdyno" from the itunes apps store. havent tried it out yet, but i will this weekend for sure. the update for my phone took about 15 minutes and it will wipe out your pics and music so make sure you have backups. the new software is amazing, i can only hope this "dyno" is as cool as they made it out to be.
cactus1, TMI. We use 80 grit here. How can you say "I took a picture with my phone for you to see in a moment" fifteen years ago? Five years before that, you would be called nuts. I'm still having trouble with making the little light bulb above the manual typewriter to synch with the party line phone.
Sorry man, think you are mistaken. Works just fine on mine. kid-pad, 1/4 mile times, HP estimate. It all works on the first gen. Maybe they have two downloads? One for the old, one for the new?
I just got it today, I'm about to leave work and its a long straight shot home. I will let you guys know how it works out when I get back to the pad.
16.2 @ 91 Even with 3.08s and a posi it still spins em. Is that a relative fast trap speed for the high ET?
