Actually, it looks pretty good right now. I'll take the camera to the shop and post pics tonight when I get home. I knew I needed a lot of practice on panel splicing and metal shrinking. This project made me a freakin' PRO!

Heres the pics as promised. Before and after. Its gettin closer to a real truck.By the months end it should be ready for paint.Did I mention that I hate blocking.
When I got the truck, a van front had been spliced on front... Crooked of course. It takes a lot of effort to get things lined up correctly I discovered, I dont think Ill take on a basket case like this again.

  8. I'd avoid the Greenbriar corvair like the plague. Air cooled and unreliable.
Been there. Done that. Deeply regretted it.

There is an econoline pickup in shelbyville that used to be raced by a ford dealer in the 60s. it's got a v8 and is sitting as parked in the 70's. i'm probably going to pick it up next week from my buddy.

I think we made a deal on the econoline today. It's a 62 and it's been parked since 67. I've got all the history on it which is actually pretty interesting. The motor is the Ford 260 and that's the race engine. I didn't even know that they made performance parts for the 260!!! They claim this thing was scary fast. I'll post some pictures up when I get it home. In the meantime, anyone know much about the 260???

The motor needs a little freshening (170 ci)& the body needs some work.I would like to repaint it satin black .I was also thinking of boxing in a small section between the bed & the cab behind the seat so I could fit my bike in the back if needed. Also does anybody have pictures of the interiors on the pickup just curious of what the headliner looked like. Sean

  18. Why?
    That White's not bad looking.
Is there some ugly body work hiding under there?

The Thames Freighter was imported here from about 58 till 61. It is actually the predecessor to the Econoline. Made by Ford of England. Some styling and design is similar. When the Econoline was introduced Ford stopped importing them. Cool Vans..

Same as the work vans. There was just a piece of cardboard (basically) above the heads of the driver/passenger. I'll see if I can get a pic of mine. It's still in there

Here's one of my friends, this thing was once mine about 12 years ago. I just put a new engine in it for him and it was a pain, but it's done now and he should be taking it back home soon.

    Haha....no.

That one is a rare one indeed, v8 at. Body is slowly being worked back into shape. Econoline is done, green, no longer flat black. Van is next, going for orange and white.
