1931 Victoria...My First Model A build.....with pix

I'll tell ya'll, gettin everything together
for one of these is a freakin chore...
I have a whole new respect for these cars and
the people who put them together..

I've been stacking parts for 6 months...and it's
finally time to assemble..
hopefully in time for the drags....
got my rails ready today...
Time to start thrashing...

Hope to have a rolling chassis next couple weeks....

Parts to install this next week if all goes as planned.

(hammerndollie's) custom air ride crossmsmber,
Custom 3 1/2 inch dropped and drilled ford axle,
Custom k members,
57 Ranchero 9 inch rear w/ detroit locker 4:11 gear,
Custom trans crossmember,
Custom 4 link and coilovers,
Custom rear crossmember....

But before I can start...
I'm waiting on my wheels to show up, anytime now...
so I have them for mock up before I hotstick anything permanently...

I have been reading, lurking, commenting, buying and selling parts and absorbing information on
all kinds of builds for almost 2 yrs now...
The HAMB has been a lot of help...thanks all....
I know I'm a long way off, but I have 85% of the parts for this build and I'll pick up the rest along the way...
I'm sure I will have a lot more questions to so I hope I can call on ya'll when I'm max torqued..

and several other goodies I've been collecting..
Gonna be gasser style...fenderless w/ 15x10, 15x4.5

Yep... Sam and I have been ribbing each other for a while now..racing him has kinda been my goal...
It'll be the match of the SBC stroker motored Vicki's....
Except mine will drive to (and hopefully from) the drags,
have tags and be street legal
(well sorta legal)..hehehe...

 

Hey ya'll...Just a couple of pics...not so recent but more comin and you'll be seein me and her in person Soon enough...18 days and countin...



I don't have time or computer access much lately to keep all up to date but I WILL (God Willing) be at the drags with Vicki in tow and drag strip ready...
I need to upload new pics of her with car chopped (4 3/4") as well and sectioned 2" on frame with new floors and with 383 installed with exhaust, with t 56 6 speed and 67 bronco 9" rear, 4 wheel discs...oh yea ET's and HaliB's and buyin rear tires today or tomrrow...anyone in W KY or S Ill or my Nashville buddies who wanna lend a hand lemme know ...It's gonna be in the 11th hour when she comes together...I may be wrenchin on the trailer on Hwy 62 while were headed to Springfield...haha....I wish that were a joke ...anyway...
I doin roll cage and finsihing interior this week...wiring and fuel and brake lines next week...hopefully firing the 383 right after that...
I wanna thank all those (you know who you are) for getting me parts that I needed, buyin parts I was selling, giving info or just encouragement...I've needed it all....I'll try to post the other pix tonight...thanks, Chris~

Yea it's a Vickiette..lol...I actually like the sedan front on it....looks a lil boxier...
The sedan part of the chop was 4 3/4 and the Vicky part was 2 3/4 to make it all work out right...It looks pretty mean now...the offy tunnel ram twin carbs and ole socal bug catcher are about even with the visor edge...
I need to upload a few of the newer pix I have to my photobucket and gettem on here..maybe later today at my buddies house...
As far as my drip rails go... I better keepem on the car..What if it rains?

Well ya'll it's lookin pretty grim for the drags for the ole Vicky...I'm short some parts and not enough time to get them together it's lookin like...need axles for my 9 inch and I can't seem to locate them..
I may bring her anyway just so she's there in spirit...
I dunno...kinda breaks my heart after all this work...
If I didn't already have rooms I'd probably cancel my trip...
I am goin to keep workin though till there's no time left...
We'll see what happens...

moser axles 4 days max and you have a new pair ,order with brgs and retainers and studs and all you do i stick em in........lucky for you i killed my motor in agent orange and wont be there, or id run ya.......

 

Hey Sam talked to Moser today but it takes 2 days to make them and 2 to ship since I'm in KY and they're in IN so we'll see if I gettem in time...you broke the 406 already!?DAMN it's just not in the cards for us to meet at these drags...maybe the laft coast ones....then we can break them together...
I may still come and bring her just for the hell of it...
I'm gonna be takin my 28/29 5 window to Springfield to see if it sells to....
I just scored some more parts for it today so it looks like it'll be at least parking lot run and driving...

 

dude gota keep those beer cans on the car they are cool. nice job with the frame keep me up dated pm me as you go along looks great.

 

Well all I've had many a up's and downs but it just ain't in the cards for my Vicky to make the Drags...but here's the progress...Hope to still make the DRAGs just to watch....

Well it's official..No Drags for me this year....
I'm gonna go to the Frogfollies in Evansville and sit on the swapmeet and make money instead of spend it...
There's always next year and hopefully
the "Left Coast Drags" are coming soon...

I do have 2 rooms for fri and sat night at the Ramada if anyone is interested lemme know...

 

I just let my rooms go at the Ramada if anybody still wants to stay there are now 2 open...a king room and a pair of doubles...Call Ramada and ask for Bert...she is the reservation specialist handeling the event....

OK ya'll, I'm having trouble picking a color..and I need to pick it soon since I will be doin the frame and motor finished soon (likie next week!) but the body will have to wait till winter and I can not make up my mind...
So the colors I have in mind are Green and copper...
I'm leaning towards a shade of green on the new 05/06 mustangs...kinda a frosty pearl/metallic but it's up in the air...
Also I havn't found a grill shell and insert I like...and I'm 32'd to death..so any suggestions? I picked up a 35 chevy this weekend at the Frogfollies swapmeet that looks decent sitting on it...I need somthin different...
Any suggestions???

Yes...that green on the body, grill shell and engine...with copper on frame and front and rear suspension...with some real copper accents, rear rollpan. visor insert, stainless cowl moulding...a few other places...

 

Very cool Sedan......I'm sorry we did'nt get to see it at the HAMB Drags this year,......but we will be looking for you next year for sure!

A couple of ya'll had asked me bout the 30-31 coupe that was for sale in my ad...here's the only pic I have of it now...and it was taken before it was boxed, kicked, and stepped..and now it wears a hemi and a corvette 3 spd...
it also has suicide chevy axle and spindels...a 40 pontiac rear end and lots more...
