39 / 40 Mercury's - Photos...

Got a bunch of great shots from Rikster's Site...

But wondering who has one on here....? and any more photos....?

Also what the differences are between a 39 and a 40.....so far the dash looks different and the front grille dips to a peak on the 40 as opposed to a 39 where it finishes off 'flat'....anything else different...?

39 and 40 Merc differences:

Grille/ hood
tail lights
bumpers
dash
bolt pattern/ wheels- went from "artillery" to wide 5

and thanks for the info....if i get the 39 i'm after I'll have to look at modifying the grille to a 40 style set-up.

Also the rear fenders are different. 39's have a much smaller wheel opening compared to a 40. 39 Coupes do not have vent windows,40's do.

Choppers got a 40 coupe, he chopped at the Kustom Nats. Carps should have some pics.

 

Here is the one that I started a year ago and just not have had time to go back onto it. This will change after round up since my new shop is almost finished and I can get back on it. Once that happens there will be more post of the progress.

Nice Jive Bomber, makes me glad I got those 41 Stude tails. I'm also loving the color.

 

Anyone know if 40 Mercury front and rear fenders from a sedan are the same as convertible and coupe models?
