From a quick doodle to finished drawing.

 

I added the scoop and scallops during a phase of drawing a custom car.

Back when I first saw this orange 50 Ford Coupe at a local car show, I thought it was pretty outstanding. Low stance, nice mags, bright orange paint and later, a front push bar shield.

This was at one of the Nitro Revival event in So Cal. What a combination rolling down in front of the spectators... Yowza!

But, being an old surfer with specific needs, one took the image of the cool orange 50 Ford Coupe and made some changes.

Now, we would be able to store stuff in the back and it would allow a nice resting place with the tailgate open and windows down. Since we are now “old folks,” the extra space would be used for daily shopping trips, groceries and garden plants, etc.

If our granddaughter and her friends decide to go surfing, (At most colleges, the curriculum offers a surf class held at the closest beach to the campus) we would have the car and space to provide classy transportation to the waves, if needed… YRMV

One last choice of colors would be to brighten the scallops versus the rest of the body. No, it is not for the L.A. Lakers, but perhaps, the color contrast for the L.A. Sparks… ha!

 

I am glad to see that there are still a few of us that are weekly contributing to the (FAS) !
This is a piece of art from the original box, that held a reproduction, vintage wind up, tin racing car that I owned once, but sold it to a friend that had to have it for his collection.

Recently found this dash plaque design I did in the 90s for a local show. I guess they liked it because they wound
up using it for at least a couple years. (The empty circle was where the event's button design would go.)

This is that same orange shoe box ford that you are describing, I shot these two photos of it when I saw it at "FAMOSO" at the "CHRR" a number of years ago.

A friend's 49 Shiverlay pick up with fazed back Old Town Clovis as a backdrop. Both truck and town are fully illustrated pieces
