Custom 1960 "Super Monza" was built for Bill Mitchell's daughter for her 16th birthday. GM Styling Department did the custom mods. This car still exists. It was in the Hudson Museum in Ypsilanti Mi. for many years. I believe it is in a Corvair Museum in Southern Illinois now. Saw the car many times over the years when it was in Ypsi. Car had straight spoke knock off wire wheels that were never put into production. I believe Dayton made those one off wheels? There may have been other straight spoke wires on Motorama cars also, not sure. The wire knock offs that were produced in 1963-1964 were bent spoke, made by Kelsey Hayes. Was a very expensive option on Corvairs. It is estimated that there were only 500 sets of 5 produced. My one family owned 64 Corvair has a full set of 5 Kelsey Hayes bent spoke knock offs since new. After my mom and dad bought the car new, my dad ordered the knock offs through GMPD. Bill
