Art & Inspiration How many members create albums on their profile page?

...........That's a great question and I hope others will offer up their thoughts. I personally think that it's OK to post the pictures of others as long as we do our best to acknowledge the owner of the image and for sure don't try to take credit for something that isn't our own. Individuals have the option of making their albums private or open to be viewed by the public if they so choose. It's never OK to take credit for something that isn't your own........Don.

I use images from members albums, their Threads or their posts. I generally don't ask but as a rule like the image, give a 5 star and a hello that's awesome, mention them and credit them, share a link to their Thread if applicable and expand on why and what it is...I've to date not had anyone be negative about it...

Birthdays get me snooping into profiles and albums...

I am constantly updating images I share as well as I discover their origins...If I share a random image posted by a member and its not personally related to them I'll still give them a mention...and share the link where I got it...

I have several albums but hadn't looked at them in years
looks like I haven't updated them in over a decade
but some have pictures I have nowhere else
not on my hard drives, cameras or anywhere

Just checked mine, two photos of a car I no longer have.

QUESTION; Why post secret photos, and not post them with built threads, or normal HAMB conversations?

 

..They aren't secret unless you choose to make them so.

 

the albums appeared before the option to attach pictures directly to threads
once that happened most members no longer used them
or at least that was my experience
before the albums we typically used a third party host and linked photos
some of those hosts and the links are no longer valid
hence the red Xs in place of photos in a lot of very old posts
