"Isn't your turn to pedal yet?"

Did you notice the 4x4 chained on top of the swing set top bar? They may have had an issue before. Notice how much the top bar is bowing even with the 4x4 chained on top of it?

I'm kind of wondering which car was the motor donor. I suspect the 57(?) is getting the motor out of the 59/60?

I swapped a lot of motors using 3 pieces of 1 1/2" pipe with one bolt through all 3 pipes. The bolt held the pipes together and was used to hook the come-a-lone onto. I remember have to weld a chain link to the bottom of each leg and connecting all 3 legs together at the bottom with chains as well, so it didn't sink too far into the ground or let the legs slide away while lifting. I changed that top bolt about every 3rd motor because it was bending so bad. I'll bet I pulled over a hundred motors using that setup for over 10 years. Even had a few friends borrow it! As long as you could move 3 pieces of 16' long pipe, it was portable, and with a come a long and the chains on the bottom, it could pretty much pull any motor out of any car anywhere. big block took effort, and I didn't know anyone with a Hemi.

We had a local rent all place that rented wore out engine hoists (they had 2, one was OK, the other was pretty questionable) for $35 a day. The problem was they were closed week nights at 5 PM and were closed on Sunday and Sat was a short work day for them (closed at 3pm I believe). If you rented it Sat morning but couldn't get it back there by closing time Sat or early Monday morning, it cost you 3 days rent instead of 1 or 2 days rent. You couldn't drop anything off when they were not there.

  29. This could have been my best friend and I back around the same time frame. It felt like the old days when we replaced the 3spd in my 56 with a tremec 5spd on our backs. Only thing missing was his dad tormenting us about Mag wheels and driving 2 in a bucket(seat) (his way of saying the girls hugged up against the driver). I miss him.

The old bench front seat date rides often resulted in a "two headed driver" car. From behind the car, it often appeared the driver had two heads. We won't go into what those cars looked like when they were parked at some places.

My two headed driver car was an off topic Buick. That bench seat was the only good thing about that car. Next May we will be celebrating 48 years of marriage.
