My first question but I have learned a lot on this forum. Is the front spring supposed to be tight against the crossmember on a 32 Ford? I dropped my axle to paint it and found the spring has about 1/8" of up/down movement. The u bolts are tight. Thanks, Tom
There is a spacer on the bottom clamp. If I add another spacer does it have to be welded or will the spring bolt locate it ok. Thanks
The clamps will locate it just fine. I removed a couple leafs from my spring as the car rode too stiff and needed a bit of altitude adjustment. I made a spacer to compensate and used the bolts to locate. That was many trouble free miles ago.
I'm thinking that you might need a new spring bolt to add the spacer to the bottom. For show and tell only as you can make this out in the garage in 30 minutes and maybe faster if you have an old spring leaf the right width. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Leaf...MI25js9sX99gIVqj2tBh34VAcKEAQYASABEgJPfvD_BwE
