Here is my new to me 1933 3window! I just got it home and got all of the extra parts sorted out. I’m beyond stoked to have this car. I’ve wanted one since I was a kid and I finally made it happen.

It was started by Johnny Carillo. He saved it from a field and has taken it to what it is today, and I can’t wait to get going on finishing it!

It’s channeled about 1.5” little more in the rear over the stock chassis. Front axle is a filled ansen, kinking brakes up front. Rear is a 9” with 354 and posi. 324 olds in unknown condition backed by a new t10.

The metal work needs attention and I plan to start there then work my way down to the chassis. Right now I’m planning on rebuilding the engine that’s in it as well. Here is some photos, can’t forget my Helper, my 4 year old son Ace, who loves helping in the garage.

Ol Hank was cool, but he'd been a lot cooler in that 3 window.

    What a car!!!

Is the roof brazed together? Any idea when that was done? That might be a chore to redo, but it'd be well worth it. I too dig the Olds motor in here.

Could be surface rust...looks like it had a rollover or a tree fell on it, lots of stitching chops are like that though...ahh field car...but it's real steel, solid at that...and it's one of those Kid Cars Oh yeah!!

I look forward to the story...being an old car is many times anything but graceful...

    Congrats @angelbaby65

It doesn’t get any better than that. Keep pics coming of the progress.
    I’m doing a ‘33-5 window but would love a 3 window too.

    What everyone else said! Nice!

But what’s the reference to the 2$ bill?

Hey, I just learned what “FOMO” means…

Should the rocker and sill be welded together here? I’m assuming it was, and got cut when the body got channeled? 41803E61-D2BA-4C93-9929-7A2F1A5C042A.jpeg Also, does anybody have any photos they can share of their stock or chopped 33/34 of the top of their a pilllar? I need reference for putting it back together.

That car is really fine! I would not be alarmed much by the brazing.
My 4o Ford coupe had a lot of brass repairs done many years ago.
The brass held up fine as well as the properly done body filler
and paint applied over the brass repairs. I did some brass
brazed repairs on a 56-F100 that also held up for many years.
Later I learned gas welding and acquired a mig welder. I still
use brass for certain applications. I find its good stuff.

Unfortunately it’s not brazing… The car got left out in the rain and the welds rusted. The multiples patches I think were from inexperience and they need to be redone because it was welded to hot and a lot of them are cracked. Some of them are ok but some need to be addressed, which is ok that’s the fun of hotrodding is learning!

Congrats and I hope the Old's stays. I can see it now, ( in the suede with gangster wide whites)

What a find! Congrats! And to answer your question - yes, the rocker and subrail should be welded together.

I think this is 3.5” chop, I’ll have to check my scrap box.
If you need anymore reference pics, let me know!

Well then it looks like its time for some judicious grinding of the weld
prouds. After that they may be more sound that first appearances indicate.
Or not. Either way it will be easier to evaluate and make proper repairs.
Just speculating about things, I see by the other vehicles in you stable you
know what your doing. That is a cool coupe!
