    Found today. Who made it. 3 or 4 speed?

    AMC used a real long input shaft like that.

    Yes 833.. are the shift levers positioned one up and one down? If so it's an overdrive 4th gear

  6. That’s a very old Mopar A833 4 speed,,,,,for an A body .
    It’s at least late 60 ,s model,,,,it takes a slip yoke drive shaft and not the old trunion mount shaft .
    It also is wearing an old Inland shifter,,,,funnn .
    Looks like it has been in the weather for some time,,,,,even for Southern California .

    Yep A-body. B-body shifter would have been at the front of tailshaft housing. And if it was an overdrive 833, the throw out bearing collar would be larger at the bolt flange at the case. Takes a different bellhousing unless you open the hole up on the bellhousing. I think a lot of pickups used the overdrive 833. Lippy

    23 spline input shaft similar to FE powered 1962 Galaxie T10s?

    Yes other than the hemi box, it's a real tough box. The three speed is a very tough box also. If the old 3 speeds would handle max-wedges, they were tough. Lippy
