Event Coverage Fall Poker Run 2021 - Photos

Local car club Aces held their annual poker run on Saturday. Last years event was cancelled due to covid, but back in business this year. Attendance was down vs previous years, I think potentially because of a vintage drag meet at nearby Irwindale Raceway. But those of us there had a great day. The weather started off a little brisk and foggy, the sun hiding behind low clouds, but that cleared up before the actual run started. Speaking of the run, what a blast! This is one of my top events to go to each year, I look forward to it all year. Much better then going to a show and sitting around, and this event attracts the right kind of crowd for my appreciation, very HAMB friendly, not an LS engine or tall wheels/rubber band tire to be seen. I ended up with 2 pairs, Aces & Queens. But that doesn't really matter so much, it's just hanging out and checking out the cars, then driving through some of the best scenery and roads that southern California has to offer. I took my Nikon, but never broke it out, just made do with the cel phone. Pics turned out not too bad.

 

The owner of this bitchin 34 coupe built every bit of it himself, including the paint and the interior. It was a rolled car before he got it, with substantial damage to the top and the A & B pillars. It came out really nice IMO. He also built a louver press and offered to punch any louvers if I needed any. Nice guy!

 

I’m sorry I wasted my day at the Temecula rod run. Nothing but tri 5’s and LS engines. I was the only flathead roadster that I saw

Thanks for posting the pics!!! I did about 7 of these Poker Runs, before i became an ACE. I had to work this one, so i didn't get very many pics. Good turnout considering there was a couple events going on the same day. About 50cars, plus member cars and about 110-120 people. That bitchin 56 Ford Pickup is my neighbor Brandon. Hope you guys can make it next year......always a fun time.
