Guys that use a mini van middle seat in an A roadster . What did you use to mount the seat in? Is there something made or do I fab a bracket / Thanks all
I cut the van legs off and fabbed up some for my model A. I’m planning on getting some adjustable tracks from a supplier or the yard.
I used the back seat out of a 70's Ford Bronco from U-Pull It. I had to cut about 3 inches out of the center. I also found a set of bolt on seat tracks that I adapted to the Bronco seat. They were on a seat laying in a truck bed at the same U-Pull It. I have no idea what that seat was from.
I used seat tracks from an old bucket seat. Just mounted them further apart and made up a longer cable to hook up the adjuster mechanism.
2 inch angle bar bolted to original track holes, has to be right down on floor and way back for me to fit
Used 3rd (rear) seat out of a Dodge Caravan (another damn Dodge... LOL) in AA roadster PU(6" extended cab) , bolted to fabbed brackets(no for/aft adjustment), still folds forward for access behind seat.
Friend of mine used a cut down tube framed seat out of school bus and reupholstered. Seem seat could be modified to use tracks pretty easily.
Should be able to use tracks out of many vehicles. Just have to adapt them to that seat and fit your floor for seat angle. Small truck with bench seat should give you plenty of options. Rang*r, Sl0, Col*rado etc. Find something without a center console.
Mini van seats in my 39 SD, made my own mounts to match the slides, its not hard if I can do it any one can.
