There was one at Goodguys Pleasanton a few years ago that was straight, black, dechromed and in the weeds- it was gorgeous
Funny how opinions change over the years , people nowadays comment on how cool and elegant Edsels look yet back in the day they got knocked for their grill but what about the Jaguar XK120 and MK2 they two had oval grills , think it was a case of everybody jumping on the band wagon
Super distinctive front end design with that grill. Can look totally ugly or can look ultra cool, just depends on the treatment. Some great examples are posted in this thread!
They are very similar to the '59 Fords. I almost bought a '59 Edsel locally for $8000 in pretty decent shape in 2018. It sold and I never saw it around since.
I saw a 60 with the Starliner top for sale on one of the dealer sites a while back. It was a beautiful car, wish I’d saved a pic of it....
Seems I have officially become an Edsel fan considering my son is driving one daily. I was already following this thread that my buddy Jim @1stGrumpy started, but will be following closer from now on. Here is a “before” pic of the one my son just got. First on the list other than making sure it is reliable is lowering it some.
The big problem with the Edsel is the car did not match the marketing hype. That made the car a big let down. And the Tele Touch automatic shifter failed as often as it could.
