Hot Rods Carb. problems.

Hello All, last week I rebuilt a Edlebrock 600cfm ( AFB). I have rebuilt several without any problems, But this one has me stumped. it idles fine, runs fine at low speed, around town 35-40 mph, but when I get on it like getting on the Highway, it seems to sputter, and hesitate like it has trash in it or something...I have looked, and everything look clean. any ideas?? thanks

 

Did you remember the springs under the power pistons? Do the power pistons move freely in their bores? Did you possibly damage the metering rods when reassembling the carburetor?

 

Most carburetor problems are electrical.

Go with Billy, what distributor are you running? Is your timing advancing?

 

What was the problem before you rebuilt it?

 

Mix the jets up ?

 

Last time carb stumbled on me, found coil wire burnt in half @ the boot the next day. Time before that was a boot burnt and arcing on a header tube. My engine eats plug wires for breakfast.
