I just ordered a SoCal Auburn style dash insert and the guy told me that you cant install that in a stock style 32 dash - said you have to extend the dash to make it fit (because it's so big). Is that the case? Anyone have any info on or experience with this? Thanks, Scott
If it is the same size as a real Auburn dash panel, then no it won't fit. Some companies make them a bit shorter though. Is SoCal's shorter than normal?
They give the dimensions. Should be easy enough to measure. https://www.socalnorthwest.com/store/Item/SOC-001-62093-62094
good call, didn't see those dimensions listed. I went out and measured - 6" from bead to bead...no way something 9" tall would fit. Order cancelled
Measure first, then measure again. Maybe 3 times for me! Also, Kudo's to the sales person who gave you the information you needed.
I have 2 original Auburn dashes and inserts in my deuce 3 window and roadster and wanted something similar for my new sedan. Sadly Knetch is no longer making his dash so I turned to Dale Grau who is manufacturing a 5 & 6 hole Auburn style dash with engine turned panels that will fit a deuce dash board without extending the bottom. Very high quality product.
The only thing I find on Google regarding Dave Grau is car collections. Do your have any contact info or a website for purchasing the dash insert you mentioned? Thanks
