In 1955 this car driven by Bob Hartwell out of Omaha Ne, won eliminations on opening day at the brand new Kansas City Dragway. The car disappeared in the late 60s and had been in storage until a month ago. The new owner is in the process of putting the car back together to as it ran in 1958. Not certain if it might be the same car, however have somewhere in my files a similar article with regards to a Lincoln Ne. 33-34 with the heavy salt flats chop which was affiliated with the Rebels club. I recall the Lincoln area rebels had a booth set up at one of the swap or street rod events some time ago however the two members manning the booth did not recall the vehicle or it's fate . Will post info. if able to locate that article. Ron
That just amazes me how a car can sit somewhere for so long and then one day, it's discovered again. Awesome
Years ago my Dad told me about an Olds powered 4 carb, Ford coupe from Omaha ,that he saw run at Kansas City and win . He was especially impressed with the intake manifold and the linkage to the carbs .
Nope...I wasn't born yet... I shared a pic here years ago of it and it has been seared in my Hotrod memory since... I have to find it as I don't think it's been shared and it's an awesome one... I just don't relish searching 100 pages...
