There were several '63 Prototype and Styling exercise cars that had 6 tail lights.

What a lot of young guys today cannot experience (IMO) was how many of us waited for autumn so we could see all of the new models and not just Corvettes. With models changing in either a minor or major way every year it was something I really looked forward to. I remember going to dealers and looking at cars, especially the high performance models. When shopping for my brothers 69 SS Chevelle we saw two ZL1 Camaros with their $6000+ stickers, when my brother paid $3300 for his 396 Chevelle. If we had only known.

I remember when the 63 Stingray came out and I like many others thought it was flat out cool. If the truth be told though I still liked the 62 fuelie down the street that had the off road exhaust and black walls. I guess in retrospect I knew then what I know now, sound and performance is more important than a pretty face, although a pretty face is appreciated as well. Now if I had seen a Grand Sport up close all bets may have been off.

    Jim,
I remember when the new models were sent to the dealerships under car covers. And, they were unloaded at night so prying eyes would not see them before ahead of the official debut.
Went with my uncle to sneak a peak at the new 1959 Fords ahead of time and the night watchman shewed us away.

  8. Remember climbing the fence on the back lot at the local Chevy dealer to get a look at the 1969 new models before they hit the showroom.

Even in an earlier time when they introduced the new Chevrolet Line on Bonanza.

GM was probably trying to cut cost and knew the Hot Rodders would fix it and add the third one.

  16. A few of us are fortunate to say we were in the thick of it thru this era and lived long enough to pass it along to others.

I believe it is an artist's rendering and if there ever was a time to use the initials WTF this may be the time.
