Thanks Martin. Some guys are riding down Saturday to drink some beer and tell lies. Come on up if you can.

20150429_221219_B.jpg Got the tranny in last night. I'll probably go through everything and tie up some loose ends, then after I get back from the Jalopy Showdown in a couple weeks I'll move it over and bring the cab in and start on the hard part. Plus I still need to finish some small things on the seat and cover that with white naugahyde.

  7. My plan was to go down to Joe Smith's open house in Richmond on Saturday.
Hopefully it'll work out some other day. Can't wait to see it.

  8. Nice to see this back up, followed it from the start.
Your doing a great job, can't wait to see it finished.

I saw it, and a love every time you post progress. I read the whole thread, and I'm so excited. If I made it sound like I was impatient, I just can't wait for progress! Because I like it so much.

  10. Love it even more....

Well I'm finally back after five years! I had to stop on the truck to completely restore my T Coupe. (It was worse than I thought and took me 4.5 years) But now I'm back on the truck and spent the day yesterday reskinning the door. I'm not the greatest metal man in the world but I'll get it done. other door hopefully today!

Wonderful. Love the look of your truck.

  16. Todd, glad to see you are back to work on this project. I saw your T at Eastside earlier this month and it looks great! Keep up the good work.

This is why I decided to restore the truck instead of leaving it with the original patina. It was just too far gone. The top is the worst part. I'll tackle that last. I think next will be the cab corners.

Starting now on the cowls. Got one side done. I've also spent alot of time stripping paint out of the inside of the cab. (I need a sand blaster)

I'm really getting old waiting on this project :) .... I guess that shows I've been here for 20 years now. You did a awesome job on your Coupe, and I know the truck is gonna be bitch'n.

Spent the last few weeks replacing the top. It had a lot of rot due to the wood above the doors being exposed for so long. I really hated paying the big bucks for the two replacement panels above the doors but it was the only way for me to get it done. I'm no Craig Naff! LOL!

Luckily I was also able to buy this repop piece. Jim had it packed with screen and fiberglass. I figured a new one would be much easier and last a lot longer and not change the look of the truck at all.

I cut this one out leaving a small piece on each end of the original and welded in a new piece. Just straight forward 90 deg. bend so I could handle that. I used the original to transfer the holes back where they belonged. Got the new header piece in and made some replacement wooden pieces.

Then I moved on to the panels and bows for the top.
