This is a 31 Ford roadster cowl. I’m not understanding. Are these the lower stanchions. Or do lower stanchions mount over these. Never built an A. 32 I built was different

    Pics appreciated[IMG][IMG]

    Thanks

  2. Lower stanchions mount over them. Should be threaded for the lower stations mounting screws. Looks like your also missing the dash rail. Gas tank bolts secure tank and dash rail from underside.

Yes there is a lower stanchion that goes over the top of those ears, then the upper stainless stanchions. You are lucky to have what you have as most of them are gone. The lower stanchion that goes over what you have has two screws that screw into what you have to hold it in place. I would be working on trying to bring the screw holes back to life. Looks like yours has the screw broken of in the top one but not sure about the bottom one. Kinda looks like someone may have already tried drilling it out with pilot hole for an easy out. You are going to need a lot of heat,50 50 acetone ATF mix and luck to get those screws out of the ears that the lower stanchion goes over. Take your time trying to get it out. You need them. Hard to see but are you missing the passenger side ear???

Bratton's PN 28400 in steel and PN 28410 in stainless. They have the screws also.
