If you're talking about the pic of the man & woman behind the police car door, that's jack Lord & Peggy Castle. It's hard to tell which post people are talking about when they don't reference the post they're quoting. Mick
My grand kids have been there a number of times watching the Mermaids preforming in there under water show. State of Florida bought it many years ago and I believe they still run today. It was always a lot of fun and they also have a nice area for swimming with water slides and it's only about one hour north of where I live. Jimbo
No. Guess what? Some people have a real life beyond who designed A Studebaker. The word game (the one you couldn't figure out) was being played using model names of Studebakers. Not the CEO, designers, line workers etc.
Located in Norfolk, Virginia. Still in business today, with some renovations of course over the years. But still serves same type of menu with curb service. Was shown few times on popular car renovation TV show “Fantomworks” on MotorTrend network.
Say what you want but I and a large percentage of members here knew who Raymond Loewy was when we were 12. He wasn't just "some guy who designed a Studebaker." I would suggest that it might be you who was missing "a life" since we also knew who Harley Earl, Virgil Exner, and others responsible for bringing us our beloved cars. It hurts when your ignorance is exposed but no need to try to imply it is our fault for knowing too much!
Top two are the Los Feliz Brown Derby. We were regulars there when I was growing up in the '50's. It and the Hollywood and Beverly Hills Derbys were not associated with the "Hat" on Wilshire. The food was great at all of them.
Geez....and I even put a lol on the end. I'm sorry for trying to put some information out there. You gave me some explanation of what the "game" was about , and I appreciated that , I thought it was all in fun ..the car names being tossed around and such...it didn't appear that anyone was trying to be mean about it...especially towards you..besides that we didn't need to....you did it to your self by jumping someone about misspelling of word's when you were actually the one in the wrong. And being wrong doesn't mean that you do or don't have a life its just a matter of having some knowledge of a particular subject, the only reason I am aware of some Studebaker information and history is because I have had an interest in them every sense I first saw a Bullet - Nosed Studebaker in a book when I was 12...and I still have the book and I now own 3 1950 Bullet - Nosed Studebakers. Does that mean I have a life or don't have a life....I don't care ..either way I own 3 Studebakers and I know who designed them. Oh ya LOL...LOL...LOL.. Me too, but mostly because of the racks of A-Bodies. The convertible is cool too, but I wish I had a slant 6 to tinker with.
This mid 60s picture was in Overland Park, KS. Clasen-Morse merged into the current McCarthy-Morse chain.
