The stuff of nightmares. One of Jesse Godley's numerous Philadelphia warehouses, built circa 1851 (I checked- it's long gone) ~ Screen Shot 2019-12-15 at 8.02.54 PM.png

So that explains the big spike in localised fender benders.

Gable entered the armed forces when his wife, Carole Lombard, was killed in a plane crash.

That brings back memories of orange glow in the night skies and the smell of rotten eggs when driving by.

Daytona Beach killed a lot of cars. Use to go down there all the time and watched a local OT 67 Barracuda Formula S go from a beautiful car that someone probably brought down from the North when moving there to slowly rotting away and looking worse every year we saw it. He used to cruise the beach top down every day, this was in the mid 80s. In the late 90s I saw the car looking really bad in a backyard in Ormond Beach, I heard it just pulled apart when they tried to move it.

Looks like Chuck Rodee in 1964 on a qualifying day. This Epperly laydown missed the show after Rodee crashed it.

Lots of Y blocks had rocker oiling problems. Oil flow went thru hole in cam bearing, as I recall. Small turn of bearing n "tick tick tick" no oil to rockers. With that said, I do have a Y block I intend to use to convert my 56 F100 panel truck to V8 someday.

Very very ez fix today during rebuild at a machine shop even if your doing assembly. For the most fault was most did not use detergent oil as Fords had solid lifters. One small revision to the center cam bearing or the hole it is pressed into eliminates the problem.
