In the last few years, we’ve lost the shops, that did the car club jackets with chain stitching. Got a few new members whom need jackets done. Lady in Seattle then Montana both either died or retired Any info on a person to contact would be much appreciated Getting cold in Orlando and I actually did pursue this a few months ago Thanks JT Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Several places sell the jackets, but you'll need to take it somewhere else for chain stitching. When I was in a club we ordered jackets from DeLong and then took them to a local shop who did work for local teams. They removed the liners, stitched the letters, and sewed the liners back in. Lots of shops have a machine with a chain stitch program, but finding a shop that will do it free-form will give you an authentic look instead of a modern, machine-made look. Look for embroidery and tailor shops within an hour of you and local school sport team supply places
post pic of style of jacket that you are looking for - search https://jacketshop.com/school-jackets/fl/orlando-fl
Here are some pics of the jackets I had made for me and my son a couple of years ago. I’m not sure what chain stitching is ? These are made with thread that is sewn with a machine,,,,about 7 colors I think. The guy that did these did a fantastic job. They are a Red Kap jacket,,,navy blue,,,,it is a mechanics jacket style. He can offer many different styles of jackets ,,,colors ,,,,and whatever logo you come up with. The pics look faded,,,it is just the light,,,the color is still perfect Navy Blue. Tommy
There is a company in paramount ca. That did the chain mail on my Sultans, also a local here by my home that does it. But I have no doubt that there are a ton of embroidery companies in Florida, try google
Thanks guys So....spoke with jacket company dude in Utah Apparently this chain stitch technique is a lost art Makes sense that it started after Korean War GI’s brought home the process for their Hot Rod jackets Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

These were both done locally on a machine that takes some kind of program, the initial setup fee for the program was a little pricy. Current club Back Front Old club that I'll make you a smoking deal on..ha ha ha Back, leather/wool varsity jacket Back of insulated nylon jacket Back of mechanics jacket
- so, where is a picture of existing car club jacket? - one that you posted has nothing to with a car club logo
Look up 'Ironthread'. https://www.ironthread.com/ They did our club jackets. Very nice work. You'd have to ship them the jackets.
Spoke with Jason at Iron Thread Quite certain he can get the job done Price seems reasonable too Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I've always wanted to do a 1-time custom varsity racing jacket using techniques from the 1950's. especially the cool stripes all the way around the shoulders, as seen in these photos, but I fear the procedure for the technique has been lost to the ages. I don't even know what these stripes are called. Does anyone have the machine and know how to exactly replicate the shoulder stripes?
