The 2019 TROG was better than ever this year. It was my third as a spectator and even more enjoyable because this year I drove my A coupe up from Tennessee allowing me to feel a part of the event in a small way. Some of the other coverage threads gave a good account of the cars, so I want to give you a feel for what it was like on the streets and in the pits. Thursday and Friday during the day several blocks of Atlantic Blvd were blocked off for the car show and the gravel lot next to the Surf Comber motel was race car and race bike central. On Thursday ,Friday/ and Saturday night the streets and motel parking lots were full of partying hot rodders and vintage motorcyclist till the we hours.
Great shots. I hope to live as long as Gene Winfield and then to have even half the energy that guy has.

It was truly an awesome weekend can’t wait for next year already Wired Customs LLC, Virginia Restorations and Customs
OK, you convinced me. I have not been going to TROG because it was too "commercialized" now I have to go!
i saw 3 early A's on the ride home on the shoulder of 95 south just north of washington. looked like one of the road going roadsters had an bearing or hub issue. and some damage to the driver side hood sides from a mishap with the front tire. .. they where putting it up on to a trailer... i tried to pull over but could get over in time to stop. it looked like they had it under control. Hope that wasnt you guys..?
Thanks for sharing your pics, Gary. Another year and another opportunity missed for me. Next year for sure! Where did you stay? Bill
Stayed at the Aztec/American Safari complex, a very nice real deal 50's style motel near all the action. we've stayed there every year we have attended. Wasn't us!
Wife and I were there camped at Holly Shores campground with the 52 and the old camper, people had no idea about the race. For them was all about halloween. For us was on the bucket list great time got some pinstriping done at the swap meet.
the Cruise scene at night is highly underrated.. all night long its open fenders and sleds running the streets.. some of the best parts of the whole event.. pull your cooler out to the curb and watch the show go buy.. I am bringing my 58 pu. next yr to cruise.. just let everyone flop in the back and ride around... super fun times.. that should not go un mentioned.
