So I have a 8ba distributor with a dual point conversion and a Mallory “trash can” condenser mounted outside. Where does the wire from the condenser go?

The wire from coil going to{dist} points is also were you hook cond wire to points{both points are hooked together in dual set up, case of con should be grounded to dist case. The con helps keep points from burning up,by acting to cut down ark of points as they open.

So the wire from the condenser goes straight to a bolt on the case

NO.... the wire from the condenser goes to the points, or the coil side where the wire from the coil goes to the points. The case of the condenser gets grounded.
