Imagine just how much these 3 modes of transportation changed the world. HRP The Ford Motor Company was incorporated. The Wright Brothers achieved the first Successful flight. Harley - Davidson made the first production motorcycle available to the public
The Wright plane also employed wing warping. I don't think that type of control mechanism lasted long.
I don't really care too much about what happened in 1903. I believe the hay days of hot rodding was the early to mid sixties.
All except Harley never made a public available motorcycle until 05 nomater what fallacies they push on the public!
William S Harley & Arthur Davidson made available the first production Harley-Davidson Motorcycle and the bike was made to be a racer, Henry Meyer purchased on of the first 1903 models directly from William & Arthur. Granted the 1903 ( Model O) was a prototype motorcycle but none the less it was sold. Anything during this time period can be debated, the point is three major transportation industries made their footprint on the history of out nation in 1903. HRP
I was just considering this a couple days ago at least from the Ford and Harley perspective. My company was also somewhat founded in that same timeframe...1902 which is what made me think of the other two from 1903. I was missing the Wright Brothers though in my thought process.
As is with everything, one must make a attempt and then hone those skills, took me a while to lean to weld. HRP
No they didn't. They didn't even begin building the Curved Dash model until 1901 after a huge factory fire, that's when Olds began using interchangeable parts.
No, I do the same thing when I reread my own writing. From your reply #15. "took me a while to learn to weld."
I see what your referring to, I think you were reading in something you thought I was saying and now that I look at it I can see where you assumed a spelling faux pas. When I typed lean that's exactly what I was saying but maybe I need to clarify, years ago I was in a pretty horrific motorcycle accident, resulting in a couple of fused vertebra and a pretty messed up leg & also a fused ankle, due to the injury's leaning to weld is something I really can't do very well, I had to relearn how to get down on my knees to weld, I could weld before the accident. HRP
HRP, I always thought the same thing about 1903! My great-grandfather started our ranch, here in Oklahoma ( actually Indian Territory, back then) in 1903! He also helped start our church that year! Bones
Wonder what Karl thought when his wife "borrowed" it and drove 66 miles across the countryside, while he was sleeping, about 50 miles further than he had ever driven it.
I ain't that old! Drivers License were not required in 1903, All states required drivers License by 1959. HRP
