A young Fred Lorenzen who eventually became known as Fearless Freddy. Born in Elmhurst, IL he was one of the first from up North to become a NASCAR super star racking up a total of 28 Grand National wins.
Fred is in a local nursing home, a victim of dementia.

 

What a shame, but I guess you would call it progress.

This car was destroyed in a tornado in Ohio 1968. Building collapsed on it.
