All business on the top floor, party, party, party in the basement!

  2. ‘roundabout ‘84/‘85 there was briefly a ‘57 parked behind an old gas station with an old paint job that included that sort of painting on the bottom of the ‘55 (what’s that called...I’ve never known). I remember the base was white metal flake and lots of brightly colored stuff all over. Paint was obviously old...checked and peeling. Lowered, on cragars, continental kit. It only sitting there a week or so. I had never seen it before and I’ve never seen it since. Wish I’d gone back and took a couple pics of it. In my minds eye it sure was super cool.

Looks like 'spiderwebbing', which is very rare these days.
I saw it used a few times in much smaller doses where it looked good with all the other work, but most times it just looked funny.
Humans prefer order to chaos, and the webbing is pure chaos...
Did a search and found this video (WARNING! LOUD!)

Looks like modern stuff, but it's coming out a LOT faster than what I have heard the old school method was.

This picture is an early 1970’s version on my friend Wes Downing’s 55. I called him about this picture as I had not seen it before......thanks for posting this

I did this a few times way back in the late 60's. It's really quite easy all you do is use way less reducer or no reducer and sometimes a bit higher line pressure and hold off a bit while spraying. A couple test panels to find the effect you like best and spray away. But you do need some clear over it as it's quite lumpy. :)

The colors look Watson inspired - not a typical combo, but so tasty together!

I think I saw a couple more shots of it today in the custom thread or mild custom thread.
