Well said Frank. I see the other side as well and as usual progress ruins the things we love and time will tell. For me I’m totally over the modern drags and have embraced the nostalgia events . It will never be the same as back in the day but it’s brought the excitement back for the spectators as well as us old guys that still like to bang a 4 Speed and pop wheelies.! [emoji41][emoji469]

Yup the southeast Gassers are reliving the good ol’ daze of gear banging Gassers and are putting in a great show. Here in So. Cal we are attempting to organize a west coast heads up Gasser match race organization. We need more 4 Speed cars but most of the Gassers out here have caved in to the boring automatics or refuse to race and are content with street cruising and car shows. The up coming Nitro Revival at Irwindale should be a blast.

Not really a streamliner dragster in that it is Al Bergler's AA/C with a 23 T roadster body. The canopy did come off the Logghe streamliner though.

Designed by Steve Swaja, Wedge I and II. First one Chrysler Wedge Powered (go figure) was wrecked. Wedge II longer wheelbase and slots over the rear tires to let air escape, Wedge, Hemi and Olds power, now restored.

Scroll up (just a little) to your own post #223--that is the S-C-M car. And it is not a burnout--just the run the way things were done back then.

    from SoCal

I always knew of him (reading and SoCal track announcements), as Roy "Goob" Tuttle...not "Goober". Goober was a TV character (George Lindsey) as I recall..!

They cut slots in the body to relieve the air pressure thus preventing lift at speed.

More likely an oil leak--a lot of early hemis from that era used an adapter on the block in place of the factory oil filter mount and routed oil lines to a remote filter.
