I could certainly be wrong but didn't this car win more than one of the Oakland 500 races?

 

I'm not really for sure but I believe the car that won at Oakland was the Sta-Lube Spl. a full size champ/indy car (though it never ran at Indy) but this one appears to be a big (sprint) car.

 

In order to keep the boys from getting too fresh, father gave Mildred the tool necessary for such occasions.
