Could someone direct me to a site that might help me id a Hurst shifter I have? It appears to be a three speed straight line shifter that you push down to Shift reverse and first. No part number stamped on it. Has anyone used one of these? Any help appreciated. Glynn.
Does anyone know of a good source of exploded diagrams for Hurst shifters? It slipped out of my hands when I drilled out the rivets and I lost track of the order of the parts. There is nothing for tilting it side to side but has slots that looks like its pushed down to move one arm, maybe a reverse lockout design. Thanks for the responses, Glynn.
Inline with no.lean sounds like a verta gate (spelling) with the twist reverse handle removed. Had a buddy do this for a three speed.
Round or flat stick? if it's flat, If it's a flat stick then it's either a Synchro-loc or a Mastershift. I'm guessing Synchro-loc as there are TWO patterns you can select from. I am Butch/56sedandelivery
Sorry no tools for sending pictures. Butch, It has a flat stick and at the base it has a formed sheet metal housing to enclose the mechanism.
Does't it have the "name" embossed on the side? Never seen a Hurst that did't have that. It should say Hurst on the stick, but look on the sides of the actual "shift" mechanism for the name. The "outer" part of the shift mechanism will have the name, the mount side will probably have a "slide mechanism" that's used to change patterns on a Synchro-loc. I'm not sure about a Mastershift. Sounds like it's not a Mystery Shifter. The steel removeable plates on the bottom of the shifter mechanism is to keep the grease where it's needed, and keep dirt/dust out. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Here's some shots of the seperate parts, but these I believe are 4spds. Sent from my SM-T387V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thanks for your patience. It has Hurst embossed on the box like structure on the left side. Its fairly thin gauge with 3 sides broke over to make a top and 2 sides. The bottom side is open for the levers to come out the bottom. The bottom edge is curved and the box tapers outward at the bottom making it 4 1/4inches wide at the top and 5 1/4 inches at the bottom. It had 3 large rivets holding it all together. It also has Hurst embossed on the shaft of the shifter. I haven't seen a picture of it yet but it's close to a synchro-lock but doesn't have the adjustable stops for the throws. Glynn.
