The term Doodlebug covers a lot of home spun builds. I have one from here in Nevada that is a cut down, striped and shortened '38 or '39 ford pickup. Here they were used for hill climbing and running the sand dunes and dry lakes. In Texas my uncle broke my heart when he made a Tractor out of the straightest '32 Plymouth roadster I'v ever seen. He came to our farm and cut out the pieces he needed with a torch. My dad cut the rest into scrap. I have a picture of it somewhere. Even at 8 or 9 I had plans for that car.

I can't tell from this side but if the engine has not been messed with and has 2 exhaust ports it's a '28. There is a thread here for the '28 engine and also the earlier ones. They can be built to smoke Ts and As.

In one of his many photo stills he was leaning against a Hotrod...I thought it was a 34 Tudor...but no...it was this...

Can’t wait for better weather to get her outside for some good shots, but this is the end result ( almost).

RIP “King of the Surf Guitar”, Dick Dale.

HNNNNG! Wow, these really flip my switch! These are perfect examples of what this thread is celebrating.

The Royal Hawaiian, I love how the 27 "Phaeton" used the driver seat back instead of the back of the touring tub to close off the back of the body.

Looks like it sold a few years back. There's details in this old post in the classifieds:

Looks like The_General has fallen off the map lately unfortunately.

@patmanta thanks for the thumbs up and connecting some dots. I am never surprised to find them leading right back to this place. The Royal has graced this thread before...

Members come and go...Obviously not due to their efforts many times...there is some seriously cool stuff lying in the archives...I like to hope they will pop in again...its really still The Place to showcase this stuff and each of these individuals makes it a better place.

I always enjoy finding just seriously cool elements of this Big Picture that deserve equal praise...
