No, it’s Rebel. I had determined that the American Autowire kit was a much bigger kit than I needed with circuits and features I’d never use so I boxed it up and returned it to Summit.

Talking to Jeremy at Rebel, he custom made me a new 9+3 kit tailored to my components and it’s on the way to me now

 

That's not the Rebel kit you sold me. Different fuses and it doesn't have those labels on it.

 

Unbelievable a tiny car like Model T can use that much wire.

It’s mostly because your sneaking the wire around making it look nice. If you hung it like a clothes line it’d be 1/15 of the wire. It adds up fast

 

Not to point out the obvious but he just spent a good sized post explaining that he had them make a custom harness for him, including more labeling.

So yeah it’s different than what ever he may have sold you,

 

If you want to point out obvious you should probably read his whole post he said he doesn't have it yet.

 

Guess I just assumed they were photos sent to him of his harness. Its a photo of exactly what he ordered and as you pointed out doesn’t look like the one you have.

Not that it’s something worth getting in a pissing match over. It’s a photo of a wiring harness

 

Speaking of wire harnesses; when you get your new harness and start laying things out; you may find that you can run the wires directly between some components without looping back by the fuse panels (the looped wires in the circle). Does away with some of the ease of install; but makes for a little cleaner finished job.
Anybody heard from Fred lately; haven't seen any new posts.

 

I’m guessing with the attention to detail with the rest of blue ones build that it will be nothing short of damn near perfect!

Good point didn't mean for my post to sound pissy just typed it quick on my phone and it was hard to tell that the other boxes in the background were for other kits not the one pictured. I assume you a correct and it is a photo Jeremy sent Larry. Just looked so different from the Rebel harness I got and Larry switches parts so often wasn't sure if he had confused them.

 

Fair enough. No offense meant, it's just that nine years to put a car together is not my idea of reality. In any event, best of luck with the project....Bob

 

Some people’s reality doesn’t leave every waking minute to build cars, sometimes life gets in the way....I have a 25 year project I hope to drive this summer, that’s my reality. If not, I’ll still have it next year.

I've had my '30 Roadster project since I found it in 1962 so 9 years vs 57 is lightning fast. What is the reason for fast builds?

It's nice to be able to finish the car while your still able to drive it ..lol Mine took 34 years , I was 53 when I got it on the road , I've made some changes but enjoyed it every minute for 18 years now..

 

Good for you, if mine was done it would take another 34 to wire it. Just like NASCAR there are far more watchers than drivers. Bob

If you wanted to know you could take the time to find out for yourself by reading the thread.

The build is the adventure and so is life.
Things like jobs and financial limitations and health issues that crop up are all factors.

Along with being a one man building crew.
On top of that I fabricated the vast majority of this build myself.

Buying parts and putting them together would be faster for sure.

The main thing is that I’m doing it and having fun.
God willing I’ll get lots of years of fun driving it.

 

I got it partially done but it remains to be seen if my idea will work out.

It’s going to be a little wait because once again life dictates that I do things like go to work

I'll never know what the feeling is like finishing a project that actually can be driven across town, hope the first drive is a good one in the Blue One. Bob

 

Evidently you are missing something. Shall we start a list?
Or maybe it's me. I've been gathering parts for a car for about 20 years now. We all get or kicks out of this in different ways and on our own schedule. When I die someone is going to be really happy with what I've accomplished when they find the pile. That won't be my sons though.

 

Damn you beat me by a year. It took me 35.

 

Great job on your tie rod. Thanks for the input on your bender. Nice tool if you make clean bends like that in thick wall stainless. I've been enjoying your build and look forward to further progress

 

Here's a little teaser for you.
Started with this stuff and chopped up the old shroud/ electric fan mount .
Then formulated the plan for a 2 piece easy to install and remove shroud..... the finished shots after powder coating will follow later on.

 

That’s just not fair! I’m feeding my winter car blues by watching your build! Driving a bus load of teenagers around this weekend for a out of town basketball tournament.
