I don't know if a Youtube Video is off topic here.
This is historic Stock car racing in Stratford NZ [ we spell it Stockcar as one word to describe the sport]

Stockcar racing was introduced from the USA but in NZ it developed into a "Gladiator" sport.
Contact was allowed by officials and encouraged by the promoters [it drew large crowds]

The favorites were old Ford V8's with a few bars welded to them.

As a Kid I grew up with all this, my family holidays were spent on the road with dad racing stockcars.

I have a few old photos from this era, most are poor quality [If considered "Off Topic" I will stop posting them]

A lot of the drivers were given nicknames [like wrestlers]
Norm Wright was called "Norm She'll be Wright" ["She'll be right mate" is a Kiwi Saying]

Holy smokes, was driving with the steering wheel this close to the driver common back then? Her feet are positioned to meet the pedals so the seat position might not be exagerated. Could it be for the extra leverage in the non-power steering cars?

These old cars look like HA/GR's [except the old timer Xmas tree gives it away]

These pictures are a few that I just got a short time ago ... there are around 200 total most of them are 8"x10" with a few being 5"x7" and even a few 11"x14" all B&W ... photographer is unknown...they were found in the closet of a rental house ... I got word of them and made it to the place just as they were on there way to the dump...I'm currently looking up info on them trying to put names of drivers , cars , owners etc together....they include shots from several different classes of cars and I know that some and probably all of them are taken at Delta Park in Portland Oregon , now known as P.I.R.......sorry for the quality of the picture's the lighting in my house is crap..... Here's a few more...even a couple stock car shots.... except for the stock car photo's these are 11"x14" photo's.... It's cool to go through these and see the drivers that became famous Championship Driver's ,if they weren't already......
