  1. Don to answer your question. Yes, but what you need to know is.{ First } it's a very old photo. At that time, the early 70s, you could still find lots of old vintage tin, and cheap too.{ Secondly } it's a Dodge. Back then, If it wasn't a 32, or model 40 Ford, coupe or a roadster. It probably wasn't worth what they where asking for it at the time. I was dragging home a 32 Ford 2 door, a 33 Willy's coupe, My good friend got a 37 Willy's coupe. These were all less then $400. each. My back yard back then look like a junkyard. I'm surprised that my wife put up with it. There's still a lot of stuff out there if your looking. But the problem is, storing or having the time and money, that it takes to build a Rod from a junkyard find. But I do wish I had a TIME MACHINE. I would go back and get that 34 Dodge coupe! It would have made a Kool garage mate, for my 34 Dodge delivery. Ron.... 164.jpg 323.jpg

  2. Things must have been different in your part of the country back then. I bought my 32 Ford coupe in 1974 for about a thousand dollars and it had no engine or trans, just body, fenders and chassis. That was a great deal then because a lot of people wanted the car but I was able to trade and give cash for it. That was about going price for old cars in my area then. They were not easy to find. But like you said, the Fords always brought more. I paid $600 for a 28 Chevy 4door that had rotted wood. Had to unload that one, got in over my head.

  3. Don I might add, it's not so much as a different part of the country. But it's more like where I would find them. I knew of a couple 32 coupes, that couldn't be bought at any price. But if you find them in the rear of an old junkyard, or in a old farmers barnyard. They were cheap. That is as long as another Hot Rodder hadn't gott'en there first.;) A farmer gave me a 34 Chevy coupe for free. I also got a 26 T coupe for free.:) Ron....

I knew there was something goofy about those wheels, didn't know what. Sort of thought they were from some other car. Looks more like 13 or 14 inch, there's practically no spokes left, haha.

  17. I think that could only happen from being upside down in a creek somewhere, but I don't see the damage from being on its side. Maybe a battery explosion?
