Saw this on Craigslist for $700 even has a slide . Much too dangerous for kids now days did anyone ever have something similar?
Nope. We weren't that cool/lucky. Just a high school and city park. About 50 acres of grass. Still, plenty of opportunity to get hurt.
If the cab is decent, that might be worth buying as a builder project. I don't dislike yard art or repurposed stuff necessarily, but I hate to see good buildable cars and parts get used up like this. You can barely even see the truck, just the underside.
Man I can hear the ambulance chasers from here! More liability issues with that than you can shake a stick at. I do recall some places putting old fire trucks in playgrounds but they were firmly attached to the ground and had as much pointy/sticky/stabby stuff removed as possible
That's actually not a terrible deal, especially if the seller (or buyer) has a good way to get it down. There's probably $200 in scrap iron there all together, and you'd end up with a pretty decent cab (although no doors sucks, it's got a firewall and WS frame though) and a wall hanger grille, maybe some other bits, for like $500 net. Is that for sure a 32 cab? Looks like it could be 33/34 to me, with the pushed out firewall, but it's hard to tell. Still not bad for the price, looks decent.
I agree with Squablow; it looks too solid to sit and rot. It needs to be built. If you can get it for $500, then get a couple hundred out of the scrap, you've got yourself a cab for $300. I'd get a few buddies to help hand down the cab, then hot wrench the remainder down to ground level. Too bad the doors aren't hanging around there somewhere.
Says the engine is still there. Most likely a model B. Definitely worth the price for everything there.
I bet a lot of kids have fond memories of playing in that old truck To bad society has become a bunch of pussies with no more imagination
