Ethan and I slept in this morning.

It’s a 29’er I ride the shit out of it. I’ve put about 4000 miles on it since 8/16

All loaded up and ready to go. Waiting to meet up with two of my older brothers and one nephew. Brother Bob will be racing his black and white 57 Sport Sedan, while Nephew Chuck has his blue 55 4 door sedan.

 

Although he won't be racing, this weekend will be the first time that my Brother Larry has been to the drag strip since the fall of 1967. At that time he was racing a blue 59 Impala with a dual quad 283, (bored to 301), & 4 speed.

He'll be in the swap meet with a black 59 Impala that he's selling. Attached are a couple of photos of his original 59, when he was building the engine.

 

Only 5 hours to go.

 

Keep an eye on the sky, some bad stuff west in Iowa.

Bones

 

I went by today and hung out for a while. Then we went to dinner at the drive in with Racer X. After that we went to the hotel.

We are going to set up in the swap meet tomorrow and Saturday till about 2 or 3 then load up each day and watch racing.
I took a bunch of pics today and will start posting them on the thread that is linked in my signature.

Man, I guess Jeff was more nervous about racing Scott than originally thought. Someone caught him doing the rain dance last night by the Snack Bar!

 

How bad has the rain been there today. Basicly rained here [ 2 hours north] all day. They are calling for 100% chance Sat and Sunday. Really want to come down Saturday , just do not want to drive 2 hours to sit in the rain! This sucks , been waiting for this all year. Larry
