Event Coverage Live from Pomona...LA Roadsters 2018

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tom davison, Jun 15, 2018.

  1. Don's roadster took a hard hit about 10 years ago and the car was a survivor and to look at it today you can tell it took a lot of work to keep it looking like it did prior to the accident. HRP

WHAT no California girls for the background?

Is it right that I should spend Sunday night looking at your great coverage over and over again?

    Great photos, thank you.
Any shots of the engine in the Orange '55 Chevy?

  17. Tom you should be hired to be the official event photographer, all expenses paid and name your price. You made the show come alive to us who could not be there this year. Each entrant could be given a copy of the photo you took of their car as part of admission. Thanks for taking the time to take photos, do workup on them, and generate this thread.

  20. If I remember correctly Don got sideswiped by a delivery truck. He, of many talents, fixed it.

I was traveling in the left lane of a one way street. To my right was an E350 Econoline van with a lost & disoriented driver who, being in the center lane of the street, thought he was in a left turn lane. He made an abrupt left turn right into me and then ran me straight into a tall curb. 6065.JPG 6066.JPG 6068.JPG

  22. Don,you did a great job of repairing the roadster and keeping the original look, love that car. HRP

Glad the Roadster is back on the road, and from the looks of things you weren't hurt. I'm sure I've seen it at LARS or the GNRS in past years. Bob

  29. This is the late Doug King's ARDUN-powered Model T Roadster. It was a Bonneville record setter in the late '80s (when it was still in primer ... with a roll bar, different wheels/tires, no windshield, etc.):

NOTE: There's lots of good history & info about Mr. King and his "1927 Ford track roadster that could be used on the street as well as the Dry Lakes and Bonneville" in a HOTRODHOTLINE.com interview ... just click HERE.

  30. Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. That gold roadster looks like it wants to boil those slicks at Lions or Half Moon Bay.
