Hot Rods Save of the day!!(single seater)

Started cutting on my frame this afternoon. Started at the cowl and started pushing the frame out to match the body/subrails.

 

I dont have the measurements off the top of my head. It is a two core instead of a stock one core. I know some of those tuner Hondas are making several hundred horse power. I would hope my L head six dodge is going to work its not high compression but being an older motor might tend to heat. My buddy and I where thinking for extra coolant we could fab a tank like the F.E. fords cooling systems.

 

I was wondering if it might fit in the small shell I'm using on my T.

 

Google Honda civic tuner radiators, I believe its 14.5 wide 16.5 tall

 

Got my frame rails both ruffed in this afternoon.

 

Picked up my 40 rear end today, One more part closer!!!!!

From my eyes it seems like I'm not getting shit done. Its a design as you go build and I have a lot of time to design things in my head!

A buddy had some 46 front fender stainless so i'm going to use it! Damn it looks Kool!!

might as well use the holes that were already in the fenders.

 

Also got my lower radiator mounts made and installed.

 

the trim looks great...real nice touch

 

I did a bit of mocking up this morning.

 

Did a bit more pinching of the frame this afternoon also cut the tail end off and made a kickup. I will then weld the tail end that I cut off back onto the kick up.

That little thing is coming out so cool!

 

Made a template on the tail end to make sure the sheetmetal is the same on both sides and then started bending the frame around to match the body.

I'm really following this, good thinking on the lower body flanges. (I was thinking 18 ga. angle and shrinking!)

Rear spring mount: Short tube member with flat perch plate beneath? (if transverse rear spring is retained)
If you do use Dodge pass. 'selector' type trans, a simple one-stick linkage can be made up: flat plate bracket fitted close to side of trans. Tubular 'stick' with single pole button at top. Single wire goes down tube to a 12 volt relay, ground activated; power to an early Chev starter solenoid, mounted inside frame rail. Short cable connects solenoid plunger to selector arm. Push button to pull selector arm to engage1st/reverse rail inside trans. Selector has return spring inside trans, so let go of button, stick now shifts 2nd and 3rd. Fastest speed shifts in the world! (good ground is ensured by attaching a flexible ground strap from bottom of stick to an attaching bolt...strap can come from hood ground strap on BMW in wrecking yard. Or outside yuppie watering hole)
I did this one on a '31 Plymouth PA coupe with hemi and selector trans. Called it an 'electric shift'! Took 2 hours to make it...

My plan is to get one side of the frame done make a template and do the same on the other side. I will add material to connect the two together. My other thought is to add a plate in the back to locate the spring as far back as I can get it and still be under the body. Thanks for the info on the transmission, I really would like to get a top load three speed though.

 

I got the back half of the frame ruffed in and did a little bench clean off.

All i can say is WOW. I was going to suggest using the stainless trim pieces to give it a 'finished' look, but you beat me to it.
