Do you use English bacon to grease an English wheel? Just wondering.

Yep, if it was easy anyone could do it, but its not and we do it anyways. That's what makes us special.

  5. Great thread for sure - and the HAMB can use some of these . . . and bacon of course. In a funny way, this has inspired me to get my damn 34 coupe further along. I tend to get side-tracked by things like Bonneville, track racing, EFI conversions, magnetos and every other fricking mechanical thing! Anyway - you've actually helped me . . . in that I know I'm not alone . . . there is a HotRod God that loves us all . . . just as we are! ! LOL

  6. This thread has inspired me to have another shed built so I can drag home more projects. Looking at what English bacon is, (almost a pork chop), I can see where it might be very good.

  7. too too salty, i prefer a maple smoked bacon.

It was always my unwritten rule that every hot rod you build should kill you just a little bit......

As they say what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. And this was an awesome thread till the bacon thing. I got this dam meat allergy and can't eat it any more. That may actually kill me.

I don't know if I should keep snorting lines of grinder dust, but every little bit helps, right?

I was offered Gloucester City Pork Roll once, but I declined.

  15. Try a banana doughnut with peanut butter frosting and bacon.
It's the doughnut that all other doughnuts want to be but can't.

  17. Perfect thread and very recognizable. The HAMB could use more humour, so thanks.
Great project and what is 5 years in someone's life.

I made the decision to have food poisoning and the world's worst hangover at the same time this weekend. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right, I suppose.

I've gotten the lathe hooked up and working. No actual car progress this week, but I'm in the middle of the next step. You'll never guess what I'm doing.....ok, yeah, I'm cutting more stuff out and doing it over again. I'm making room for a gas tank and doing my bracing with 3/4" square tube instead of 1" because it looks nicer. I'm going to tie in the bracing with the trunk hinge mounts at some point and then pull the body off to get the tranny mount re-made so I can finish the floor.

Ok. Back to Bacon talk. HAMB = Hokey Automobiles, Mostly Bacon??

What I've learned on this thread:

    1. Do it three times.
    2. American bacon is the only way.
    3. Carl Sagan's Cosmo's.

    Thank you sir.

    Johnny Sparkle,
When you get around to cooking up next batch of grilled cheese & bacon samiches, give the ole waffle iron a try... it takes grilled cheese to the next level

This thread is awesome! I see a lot of what I experienced in here...just minus the actual results like is shown in the thread. I love the humor, and the coupe looks great! English bacon is what we call "Cottage" or "European" style here. The local bacon producer (Hempler's) gets their pork bellies from Ireland, and smokes them up in the next town over (Ferndale, WA). I know the owner, and he's a great guy. Their bacon is downright tasty, and you can pick it up in the Costcos here.

Anyway, keep up the good work. I sold mine, so now I will read about other people's! :D

Don't wear long sleeves when turning on the lathe, that may be the next lesson...

You left out one of the most important lessons this thread has taught us

Okay, I'm squirting tears after reading this. Thanks for the fun ride through your warped few weeks. So, why did your girlfriend break up with you? Did she say anything about doing things over-and-over?
