That is the thing I enjoy most about the HAMB, it is a place to share all the info you acquired in your lifetime in the hobby. You may answer the same question 25, 50 or 100 times and they may seam simple, "everyone knows that" questions, but to that guy that receives that knowledge, he has just added to what he can pass along. Are you going to build the roof and doors stock height then then chop, or build it chopped??

 

Im going to chop the shit out of it lakes style. I'll use the stock 2 door roof , just lean the back roof in and lean A post wayyyyy back

put those '35-'36 trunk hinges aside they will work on model A trunk lids...[ done 3 of them]

Almost forgot, the '35-'36 trucks used leftover cowlvent skin, lid, hardware from '34 ford cars...
the windshield hinges are also '33-'34 leftovers, w/s regulator handles have different drives [square / spline] but the w/s regulators may interchange...

Progress is slow working on my house. But i just got this in to help with the rear roof and the belt line above the deck lid

I love watching people in the NE create cars from car " cast offs". Over the years I've gotten to know "BlindOwl" and his friends and I've seen and learned some amazing things. That's helped me in my endeavors to create reasonably priced, basic hot rods, that to me exemplify cars of the past. The first "hot rod" I ever saw belonged to a friend of my older sister- Model A roadster with a flathead. I think I was about 12 or 13 (1960?) and I used to sneak into his garage and just stare at it.
This is good stuff- the tradition carries on, and the next generation is bearing the torch ( bad pun).

Yep, Nils was here at my shop some years back...and....Just like Nils Son sitting at the shop? I spotted the "wall Art" nekkid/topless calendar girl in that photo! LOL, My Dad ran an old beat up car repair shop in the 1950's and I recall being there a few times at that age of a child? ....Dad had countless calendars all across the old barn beams... I can remember just staring at those "two things!" on each one! See, it is always Dad's fault!! I now chase women, that is..

I had a twin to that ElCamino! same burgundy too! 327 4 speed , nearly free back then!.. in the later 70s?

 

Here's one that I butchered out. Yours looks as though it will be much more convincing. Good job, and keep it up.

did you try the '35-'36 truck w/s posts and cowl to roof edge for the rear of a 3 window roof ? HIH.
