No, we're saying that regardless of cost, they ALL break, and that a six pack of Saginaw costs the same as one can of T10.

A good Super T 10 is better than a good Saginaw.A good Saginaw is better than a worn Super T 10.Blow a T 10 or Muncie and it's" fuck, fuck, fuck".Blow the Saginaw and it's drag out the spare one.
A Saginaw can take a lot of abuse if the car doesn't hook up like a drag car.

If you are coming out to breakfast tomorrow, I'll bring the '51. Its got a Super T-10 and a hydraulic clutch. You might want to bring a blanket to lay on the ground. I use a '61 GM truck master thats been sleeved with an aftermarket slave cylinder. The shifter is a Hurst Comp Plus.

You've gotten a lot of good feedback so far. Rule of thumb: in terms of increasing strength via the use of gears with less pitch, it goes T-10 then Super T-10 and then Muncie.

The Muncie ("rockcrusher") was the strongest but also the noisiest. The Super T-10 was a good compromise between strength and refinement.

The Super T-10 was initially offered with a 2.43 first gear ratio. This was the close ratio tranny. I still have the one I bought (as a teenager) new back in the day from Staten Island Speed Shop. I think I got the first unit sold in NYC. Cost me $350. It only has a few thousand miles on it; I still have it patiently waiting.

  7. My recollections of T-10's= When you get off the gas they pop out of gear.
