I like it. Make it removable, then you can run with or without it. Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I like these wheels, hope you decide to use them. Attached is an old photoshop project adjusted to show your fenderwell mods. Not to scale but close I think.
Great looking car. Keep posting. Now I don't mean to be judgemental but black? Everyone seems to have black or red cars. Are you planning any high lights? I like the colour in your avatar. But it is your car so enjoy.
Thanks for that photo. I may end up using different wheels depending on my mood. I have four sets to choose from and each set would give a very different look.
Yeah, I know. Black is everywhere. I was thinking about a nice medium blue pearl but I have kids and am expecting bumps and bruises. I want it to be easy to repair and black is great for blends. I will be doing a blue metalflake strip where the gold anodized trim used to be. I am also going to redo the blue window tint that was on it when I pulled it out of the boxcar.
I foresee a black dash cover in your future. That dash is brilliant, in more ways than one, when you are driving during the day the sunlight may well reflect the white up on your windshield, blotting your vision some. I hope not, but there it is. Great Ranchero, really.
Looks great! Out of curiosity, with the sound system you have way didn't you fill in the speaker opening on the top of the dash? You did beautiful work on the rest.
I have a thought of doing a pop up navigation unit or a small storage compartment there. I have not decided yet.
I finally have an update. The Ranchero is starting to receive paint! The tailgate is done The body needed to be temporarily assembled for the flake on the outside.
Today was a big move forward. The body is now painted(HOORAY!). I know that there is still a long way before this is done but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
My two year old came to help today. We unmasked it and got it out of the booth. I am really looking forward to taking him and his siblings on some trips with this car.
The Ranchero is slowly taking shape. The polishing is all done. Now I am starting the long reassembly. A few weeks ago, I scored a haul of new Stewart Warner gauges. I was thinking about replacing the standard gauges with deluxe ones and found a guy that had some for sale. I only intended to buy two gauges but he offered me all 16 for $200. Now I may have to make a new panel to house a few more under the dash. Now it is almost ready for me to take home for the final assembly.
I have finalized the suspension, brakes and steering. Other than that, all that have been able to do is little odds and ends. Family obligations have required my attention more than the Ranchero lately but I am hoping to get back on it soon. The current goal is to have it road worthy for next summer now.
It’s looking great! Looks really close but I know how the family obligation thing works. Family first! Thanks for the update! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
